Kat Niehaus

Kat is both a photographer and teacher. Growing up in St. Louis’s suburbs, she always had an interest in visual arts. In college, her artwork went from pencils to computers when she decided to pursue graphic design.  Her design background can be seen in her photography with her use of color and textures.

Kat started her photography career after college in sports photography.  Since teaching always came naturally for her, the next logical step was to begin teaching photography at the high school and college levels. After working with chefs for a few years at the college level she began collaborating with many of them to create imagery for publication and marketing.

Her work has been published in magazines and on billboards. She also collaborated with the Missouri Botanical Gardens and created imagery for the book The Garden in 100 Objects.
